More peyote stitch bracelets

I made the base for this bracelet with peyote stitch and then added the blue drops around the edge and the flowers on the top. The large flowers are vintage Swarovski buttons I got in Paris.

I also used one of the buttons for the clasp.

For this bracelet, I tried tubular peyote stitch with different sized beads in order to make this spiral effect, aka Cellini Spiral. I really like this technique, but I thought the instructions made it sound more complicated than it actually was. It's just circular peyote stitch, and for each row you use three size 11 Delicas, two size 11 Czech seed beads, one size 8 seed bead, and two more size 11 Czech beads. For the starting row, you double the number of each. That's it.

Using Aluminum Cans for Jewelry Making

Materials used :  Aluminum cans Center Punch Metal Shears Browsing Pinterest, I came across some amazing embossed pendants by Tammy Tutterow. She used alcohol inks to color them and then applied a crackle glaze. She also mentioned using aluminum cans for some of the pendants. Hers looked so great, I had to try it out for myself! From the front, you'd probably never guess that they were made from aluminum cans. But flip them over... Here's what I started with.  I used a center punch to poke a hole in the top and bottom of the can. An exacto knife works, too, though I broke the tip off of a blade trying to do this.  I used metal shears to cut the top and the bottom of the can off. It's pretty thin metal, so you could probably even use regular scissors.

Polymer Clay Tile Box

Materials used: Cricut explore Wooden box Black and translucent polymer clay Alcohol inks Alcohol ink blotter Gold foil/leaf Exacto knife The finished product: First, I found a free stained glass pattern that I liked. I uploaded it to Adobe Illustrator and used the Image Trace option. I had to trace the lines because Cricut's design space didn't recognize the image when I tried to upload it as is. I kept ending up with a blank upload.  Then you can go to Cricut's design space to upload it. Make sure to save it as soon as you upload it. Cricut's design space seems a little error prone, and if you don't save it, you lose all your work. I customized it to the size of the box I had. But when I went to cut it, the elements of the image had all separated. The box wasn't quite squared off, so that's why there are gaps around the edge. I used gold foil on black polymer clay with different colored alcohol inks.

Tutorial: Make Your Own Stencils for Polymer Clay

Materials used: Stencil material Stencil cutter Black polymer clay Acrylic roller Pearl Ex powders 305 Authentic Art Nouveau Jewelry Designs Tiffany Masterworks Gold acrylic paint Nail brushes Resin I started with a book of Art Nouveau jewelry designs for inspiration.  I traced the design on the stencil material with a sharpie and then went over it with the stencil cutter.  I used an acrylic roller to imprint the stencil on the clay,and then I painted it with the pearl ex powders and nail brushes.  I went over the lines with gold acrylic paint.  And then I put a layer of resin on top to protect it.  I made a second stencil using a Tiffany stained glass window as inspiration.  It had a lot of small pieces, which kept falling out of the stencil, so I glued it to a piece of card stock.  Here it is imprinted on the clay:              Again, I painted it with the pearl ex powd
